On December the 11th, the 2nd CENILS Workshop, "Where Innovation met Research" will be held in Prague.

The workshop will be divided in 3 sessions:

  • How to successfully apply for beamtime on large and small scale facilities;

  • European policies within the field of research and innovation: opportunities in the Central Europe Area;

  • Successful stories: where innovation met research.

The National Centre of Synchrotron Radiation, SOLARIS, and the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science of Jagiellonian University in Krakow invite entrepreneurs, scientists and all interested people at the Open Days of the synchrotron and of the project CENILS. The event will be held on October 17th and 18th, at the main building of the SOLARIS synchrotron in Krakow.

Lectures, shows and visits will be dedicated to innovative light sources – synchrotrons and ultrafast lasers – and their numerous applications in top research and new technologies.

For all the published dates, the topic of the two pilot action are the following:

Pilot Action 1- FERMI @ Elettra (LP)

The experiment at LP’s facility will aim at fully characterizing the coherence and the spatial properties of the light generated by the FERMI (@ Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste) free-electron laser, operated both in seeded and SASE modes. 

Pilot Action 2 - CITIUS @ University of Nova Gorica (PP2)

Until the middle of November, the experiment at PP2’s laboratory will be the characterization of the high-order laser harmonics of CITIUS (@ University of Nova Gorica), generated with different fundamental frequencies, exploiting the multi harmonic generator provided by PP4, Jagiellonian University. In December, when all the equipment will be installed, the process of energy transfer from light to electricity in a solar cell will be investigated.
