Project's partnership involves one Multidisciplinary Research Center (Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, Italy), two universities (University of Nova Gorica, Slovenia and Jagiellonian University, Poland), a public foundation for the development of industry (IFKA, Hungary) and a private institute gathering experts in regional development, innovation and education (ERA, Czech Republic).

Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste

Lead Partner: Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste is an international multidisciplinary research center of excellence, specialized in generating high quality synchrotron and free-electron laser light and applying it in materials science. We develop excellence by providing state-of-the-art services for high-quality, internationally recognized research, thus contributing to enhance the positive impact and relevance of science on society.

University of Nova Gorica

PP2: University of Nova Gorica is an independent, research oriented and student friendly university, where knowledge is formed within a harmonious relationship between students and researchers, so that the knowledge can be transferred to younger generations and into business environment.

Jagiellonian University

PP4: Institute of Physics of the Jagiellonian University is the leading scientific institution in Poland offering excellent research environment for the academic staff members, but also plays an important role in educating new generations of scientists, teachers, inventors, managers, and, generally speaking, knowledgeable and open-minded people. Besides traditional fields of physics, the research interest includes also biophysics, econophysics, environmental science or nanotechnology. The recent very important investment is the Synchrotron Radiation Centre that is going to be the center for the interdisciplinary research based on the use of a modern electron accelerator.

European Development Agency

PP5: European Development Agency is a EU-wide network of experts in regional development, innovation, education and evaluation based in Prague, Czech Republic. Our network includes a wide variety of institutions and companies ready to join international EU-funded projects. We provide the network with partner search support, project development and project administration services. Fields of our expertise include social inclusion, employment, life-long learning, urban development, innovation, transport, environment, tourism, health, support for SMEs, certification and others.

IFKA - Public Benefit Non-Profit Ltd. for the Development of Industry

PP6: IFKA – Public Benefit Non-Profit Ltd. for the Development of Industry is the auxiliary organization of the Ministry for National Economy. As an intermediary organization IFKA is bringing together research institutes, universities, academic research institutes, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large enterprises. IFKA is helping to build awareness of the Hungarian laser technology research excellence. At present, IFKA is actively involved in biophotonics clustering and promotes the networking of Hungarian SMEs specialized in atto and femtosecond pulse lasers to pave the way for the ELI-HU Extreme Light Infrastructure facility being built in Szeged (Hungary).
